In August 2004 a meeting took place in the nursing home in Trzebiechów, which initiated founding the "Association for Renovating and Revitalization of Henry van de Velde's Work in Poland".

The association's activity area is Poland. According to the project of its statutes: "The association's aim is to widen up the knowledge about Henry van de Velde's works, to find out more about his works in Poland and in other countries, to promote information about van de Velde's artistic activity and to take the initiative of renovating the building of the nursing home in Trzebiechów."

The Association's members will achieve these aims by promoting Henry van de Velde's works in Poland, organizing conferences, sessions, seminars and meetings. The members will take care of protecting, maintenance and renovation of the nursing home buildings in Trzebiechów. It will be possible thanks to obtaining financial funds from the European Union and from other sources. They will also cooperate with similar Polish and foreign associations and scientific institutions and with mass media.

The Association's Chairman is Agnieszka Szeląg, the present director of the nursing home in Trzebiechów. The Association's seat is in the nursing home in Trzebiechów.
